Ocotillo OHV Part Camping June 13 and 14

Marquezren posted a message for a camping trip to Ocotillo OHV Part Camping June 13 and 14. Please see below:

"Hey guys, June 13-14, this weekend, Ocatillo OHV park, I believe in San Diego, Carlo of Pinoy Harley is planning a camping for one night. He ask me to bring my ATV's and dirt bikes so he could try them. I have a small RV so we could camp anywhere in the park even without a toilet. Carlo said Rene is also interested in coming. This is going to be fun since I never got to use my dirt bikes for a while because of my back problem. I hope we could all go."

I am going. Please inform details where to meet and time on June 13. We need to plan what to bring, etc for the camping trip.

Greetings Pinoy Riders ! Hope all is well with each of you. Just
got off the phone with Marquezen and ask me to post the specifics
here about the camping. It is going to be in Ocotillo wells state park, friends tell me that its a great fun place to go dirt riding, though i have never been there.

Meeting place will be at my house in Menifee
on Saturday at 8am. Rene will be coming from Thousand Oaks and
feel free to coordinate with him to meet up along the way.
For those coming from the San Diego area, we can meet at 15 and
hwy 78 and pick the time.

About the Ocotillo camping, can we change the meeting time at your house at 9:30-10:00 am? I am asking so we do not have to hurry up on Saturday morning. Anyway, Ocotillo is not that far from your place.

Marquezren is scouting the area today 6/9/09 and will be stopping by my house this afternnon to discuss the details. I have no problem extending the meeting time at 10 am to accomodate. Everyone is encourage to come.

Mga Bro, this sounds like a good get together camping, if I can't make it, just have fun and ride safe.

I get off work at 2 pm on Saturday, but I'll probably leave early. It will probably take me a couple of hours to get to the area, in
general. Hopefully, there's cell signal and if they don't...well I wouldn't know where to look. Is it possible to get coordinates, such as longtitude, latitude etc.? I may run out of cobweb if I have to swing all over the place.

I strongly doubt the cell reception in the area, been calling
Marquezren but goes directly to voice mail. We will give more
info after we finalize everything. Location, meet up joints, etc.

Right now it's only me, that I know who is coming at 10:00am. I read that 007 and Spiderman will catch up later. We need to coordinate and finalize plan by Friday night.

I have asked Gery of San Diego for his expertise for a good and easy to find camping spot since I know for a fact that's his playgrounds. I'm hopeful he will respond and do us the favor.

This is the destination, 5172 SR-78
Borrego Springs, CA 92004.

There are many ways to get there, if you wanna
take the scenic route( but longer ) take 15s
exit 79s and follow it all the way as it merges to the 78. Another
route (some say faster) is to take 10 east going
to Palm Springs and take 86 south then to 78 west.

I am looking forward seeing you all this weekend and

Gas stations are scarce, you may not wanna go
past half tank when entering the park..

Not 100% percent sure which side of the road
were gonna be. We will prolly put flags or some
type of markers to indicate our location. Most
likely, the toyhauler will be parked not far from
the pave roads as we anticipate parking for the
bikes to be easy and accesible.

Aaah! Sooo! I just got off the phone with Atty. Bert Aquino of San Diego and he suggest to camp by the ranger station where the showers, etc, are located. He exclaimed that it's much safer, since the young riders get drunk/high elsewhere but not so near the ranger station. Makes sense to me...sounds like an excellent plan. This way I'll be able to find you, and there's cell signal. WOO! HOO! Click here for the location.

The address of the Ranger Station is at 5172 Highway 78, Borrego Springs, CA 92004-5607. I will be heading there on Friday and our meeting place will be at this address. I am sure there will be a cell phone signal at this location. I suggest to take Fwy 10 East, turn right on Highway 86, then right on Highway 78, another 15 to 20 miles will be the Ranger Station.

I ride there yesterday to scout the area and I find a cell phone signal about 10 miles to this address, very strong. But I was not able to reach the station because of my concern on my gas tank so I have to go back. But again, I am sure there will be signal to the Ranger Station.
