Good afternoon everybody...or not sooo! The station fire continues to burn. They say that it has been 40 years or so since the last fire and when it gets to a canyon, it takes off like hell. If you're in good terms with the good Lord upstairs, please put in a request. Its going to take a few years for mother nature to recover its forested landscapes and am fortunate to have ridden and seen this picture perfect postcard playgound of ours. I'm truly devastated of this since it's one of our favorite roads to unwind and also the road I normally take when I go to the house in Palmdale. Sad pale No

It's sad...The sceneries on Highway 2 will never be the same in our
lifetime. I'm glad we rode it last July. In the news last
night, the small cafe in Running Springs had been consumed by
the station fire. Poof! It's gone. Only the public phone booth
remains. We had lunch there a couple of times, dear. They served
excellent chili-fries Sad
